Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer
I think everyone should read this book.  It is incredibly well-written and really made me think about why i choose to eat or abstain from eating animals.  I have have consistently been against factory farming but I have wavered back and forth between being vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and an ethical omnivore in regards to my eating identity.  Each chapter of this book made me requestion and reidentify with a new eating habit.  It was both confusing and refreshing to be questioning my habits in such a way.  The most impactful chapters for me were the ones written by a vegan animal activist, the omnivore sustainable rancher, and the vegetarian wife of the sustainable rancher.

Everyone who isn’t ready to commit to reading the whole book should listen to Jonathan Safran Foer speak for the Commonwealth Club of California. The podcast is available for free on iTunes.

now i have to go check out the podcast. thanks for the tip.  :)
